OUR STORY
Kråkerøy-based artist Kari Tveite was born and raised in Norway before moving to the UK more than 40 years ago - having recently returned home again. A life long artist, Kari was classically trained at Chelsea School of Art and boasts a BA in Mural Design and an MA in Stained Glass.
Kari has been painting fine bone china for more than thirty years, and is renowned for offering clients one of a kind designs using traditional on-glaze techniques, with an exceptional attention to detail and finish. In addition to painting fine bona china, Kari is also an award-winning book binder and enjoys exploring and sketching in her spare time.

Maple House China is a truly unique range of hand-painted British-made fine bone china, carefully crafted in our Kråkerøy workshop.
Every piece is lovingly designed and created to order by Norwegian artist Kari, with no two pieces the same. With designs for all occasions, you can browse the website for inspiration, or let your creative juices flow and work with Kari to create something truly bespoke. Maple House China uses only lead-free paint.
